Check out this Pedestrian route with instructions on the "safe" way to travel to Redfern Station. The notion that redfern is not the friendliest place has created a restriction of exploration of the area through this route being the busiest streets of the suburb. making them the safest walking route, if there was a puropse to be able to explore the rest of the streets talking people off track... would more of redferns streets be considered safe?

It's quite funny to actually say there is a "safe" route to get to the station as the streets of Redfern tend to be unfriendly. Before 08 August 2008 I did assume that the open and most trafficable route to the station was safe but after the incident on 08 August 2008, I don't believe there is a "safe" route. In broad daylight next to the station where it is bustling with people, crime or threats can still happen. I think all routes in Redfern and other places outside of Redfern are similiar - meaning there is no "safe" route. It just depends on perhaps being lucky when walking along any streets!
